Nestled between Torre Vado and Santa Maria di Leuca lies the Bay of San Gregorio in Salento. Its coast is largely rocky and, as it approaches the port area, it becomes shallow, precisely where the port was located in the Messapian period.

It is still possible to see ancient slabs of buildings erected by the Messapians in the shallow waters of the port. The green and unspoiled nature surrounding the coastal area creates a suggestive contrast of colors with the blue of the sea, which in this area reaches particularly vivid shades.
